Twas the night before mothers day,
when all through our house
Everyone was sound alseep;
Except Joy, my loving spouse.
Our 4 sons' clothes were laid out
on their beds with loving care;
In anticipation that the second
Sunday in May would soon be there.
As all of us were resting,
our mother was still up,
She was busy cooking in the kitchen
using her pans and measuring cup.
She speak not a harsh word,
But just goes on with her work;
She makes sure everything is ready
As she drinks coffee with a slurp.
The second Sunday in May is also
homecoming at our home church;
mother is busy with all the last minute things,
Like a bird feeding her babies from a perch.
Joy and her twin sister Joyce
Sing a beautiful song of praise;
and with the preacher's sunday sermon
makes us all have a nice day.
Mother really really needs and deserves
A whole day at your spa;
Where she can relax and be joyful
without all of our whoop la la.
